Stubie + Sage Accounting · AccountingLive

Accepted quotes, captured in Sage Accounting as invoices.

You already keep your stock and your invoices in Sage. Stubie prices from the same list and pushes every accepted quote into Sage Accounting as an invoice, with the customer and the payment status attached.

Priced from your Sage stock list Live

Stubie's price list can be built straight from a Sage stock export. Each product keeps its Sage item codes, down to one code per size, and those codes show on the quote lines, so what you quote matches what you stock.

Stubie issues quotes and payment receipts. Your tax invoices stay where your accountant expects them: in Sage.

Accepted quotes pushed to Sage as invoices Live

When a customer accepts, Stubie creates the invoice in Sage Business Cloud Accounting (the South African edition) with the same lines, item codes, VAT and customer. When the payment lands, the payment status follows.

New customers are created as Sage contacts as they come in, so you stop keying the same person into two systems.

How Stubie and Sage Accounting work together

Four steps, and none of them is you retyping something.

  1. Quote accepted

The customer taps Accept on the quote Stubie priced from your Sage item codes.

  2. Invoice created

Same lines, codes, VAT and totals, created in Sage Accounting against the right customer.

  3. Contact synced

A new customer becomes a Sage contact; an existing one is matched, not duplicated.

  4. Payment follows

When the money reflects against the order reference, the invoice's payment status updates.

What it does and doesn't do

  • One-way, Stubie to Sage: Stubie never edits or deletes anything already in your books.
  • Connected through Sage's official API for Sage Business Cloud Accounting in South Africa, which is separate from the international edition.
  • Your accountant keeps working in Sage as before, with the invoices already captured.
  • Item codes come from your existing Sage stock list, so stock reports keep making sense.

Sage Accounting questions

Which Sage does this work with?

Sage Business Cloud Accounting, the South African edition. If you run another Sage product, tell us which on the demo call.

Does Stubie issue tax invoices?

No. Stubie issues quotes and payment receipts. Tax invoices are created in your accounting software, and the Sage integration puts them there for you.

Can I use my Sage price list today?

Yes. Send us your Sage stock export and we build your Stubie price list from it, item codes included, as part of setup.

What about Xero or QuickBooks?

They're on the roadmap after Sage. If that's what you use, say so on the demo call so we can count you in.
